The guy that switched leagues before accumulating enough at bats to win the league title but still had the highest ave in the majors that year.

Damn, J, give us a hard one.

I did too... I said "the guy". It's obvious he's the one that did it.

Tatis did it against the Dodgers. It was very early in the season.

Eddie Murray had the highest batting average in baseball in 1990, but he didn't win the title. Murray hit .330. Willie McGee hit .335 for St. Louis and was traded to Oakland late in the year and only hit .275 for them. He had enough plate appearances to get the National League title. I know that because I'm a big Murray fan.

Cesar Tovar and Bert Campenaris are the only two players to play all nine positions in one game. Name the only player since 1900 to start all nine positions for at least one game each during a single season. Don't waste your time searching the internet because it isn't there.

after 1980, there its easier..

I`ll throw a hint, the player that did it was a National Leaguer....The NL champ was traded in Sept. but qualified still and led his league...HIS overall AVG. fell below the NL runner up! Therefore the NL runner up actually led all of baseball..

Journey, Tatis' parents live in a small town in Florida that I used to live in called Bowling Green. His mom "stepmom" actually, is the postmaster at the small post office, and not sure what his dad does, but he teaches , and runs the little league there. Tatis used to come down then actually, my little girl played there. Havent ever spoken to him, but I am pretty close to his parents due to playing basketball with his stepbrothers for years.
